Texas Electricity Plan Comparison

Use the PUCT Power to Choose marketplace and WattCostLab to compare Texas electricity plans by annual cost, fixed or variable price, term and fees.

Important: WattCostLab searches the selected public or official source automatically. When live offer fields can be normalized safely, results are ranked by estimated annual cost. If an authority does not expose reusable offer data, WattCostLab shows the official comparison link instead of guessing prices.

Texas market workflow

Enter the location information requested below and your annual electricity use. WattCostLab checks the relevant public or official source automatically and calculates comparable annual costs when the published fields can be normalized safely. If a live feed is not reusable, use the official link shown by the comparator; no manual offer import is required.

Check the Electricity Facts Label

A Texas plan can have usage credits, minimum-use conditions, time-of-use periods or other structures that make a simple advertised cents/kWh number misleading. Use the plan's Electricity Facts Label and your actual usage profile before estimating annual cost.

Territory limitation: not every Texas address participates in retail choice. Municipal utilities and electric cooperatives can follow different rules, so confirm eligibility by ZIP/service territory.

Supplier prices

Comparable supplier offers found automatically from public/official sources when machine-readable data is available.

Choose your location and compare suppliers.

Estimated annual costs use the published offer rate and recurring fees when those fields are available. Final eligibility, taxes, network charges and contract terms must be confirmed on the official comparator or supplier website.

Important comparison notes

  • Compare like with like. A supply-only offer should not be compared directly with an all-in bill unless you normalize both to the same cost basis.
  • Network and taxes can remain outside the supplier price. This is especially important in U.S. retail-choice markets, where delivery stays with the local utility.
  • Variable rates require extra caution. A current introductory or first-month rate is not a guaranteed annual price unless the contract says so.
  • Official source wins. If WattCostLab, an imported export and the official comparator disagree, use the current official comparator and supplier contract.
  • Sponsored placement cannot change ranking. WattCostLab does not move a supplier up the cheapest-cost ranking because of advertising or referral compensation.
