New York ESCO comparison

Enter the location information requested below and your annual electricity use. WattCostLab checks the relevant public or official source automatically and calculates comparable annual costs when the published fields can be normalized safely. If a live feed is not reusable, use the official link shown by the comparator; no manual offer import is required.

Read the NYS consumer advisory

New York DPS notes that ESCO information is self-reported and urges consumers to review contract length, fees and historical pricing where available. Utility historic supply rates are backward-looking and are not automatically a direct comparison to a current ESCO offer.

Important comparison notes

  • Compare like with like. A supply-only offer should not be compared directly with an all-in bill unless you normalize both to the same cost basis.
  • Network and taxes can remain outside the supplier price. This is especially important in U.S. retail-choice markets, where delivery stays with the local utility.
  • Variable rates require extra caution. A current introductory or first-month rate is not a guaranteed annual price unless the contract says so.
  • Official source wins. If WattCostLab, an imported export and the official comparator disagree, use the current official comparator and supplier contract.
  • Sponsored placement cannot change ranking. WattCostLab does not move a supplier up the cheapest-cost ranking because of advertising or referral compensation.
