Air Conditioner Electricity Cost Calculator
Estimate the electricity cost of a room or window air conditioner using average operating power and realistic daily runtime.
Default inputs are examples, not claims about every product. Replace them with measured or manufacturer-specific values.
Formula
Daily kWh = watts ÷ 1,000 × operating hours
Daily cost = daily kWh × electricity rate.
What makes the estimate more accurate?
Air conditioners cycle with thermostat demand. Outdoor temperature, room heat gain, insulation, setpoint and equipment efficiency all affect runtime. If you have measured kWh from a smart plug or submeter, use that instead of assuming the compressor runs continuously.
